It was really rough back at work today--lots to do, lots of people to check in on, take care of, etcetra. I seem to be the tail end of a couple of Norwalk cases that apparently happened around Christmas in small areas of the building. Hope I'm the last. At one point I thought our mail pickup would be fouled up by the giant hydraulic shovel blocking the alley, but apparently it went at the usual time without complaint. I resisted the urge to take the big shovel out for a joyride around Kenwood.

In two more days I get paid again...and I promise, promise promise not to blow it all at the Lush website. Though it will be hard. Push...the...button....

I cured my work-stress with my usual Ms Maus Hydro-cure..."Happy" bath bar crumbled into the water, extra gold glitter gel tossed in just because. Trashy magazine. Neroli oil is very good for cold days.

I finished a small do-it-yerself ritual for curing a broken heart. Yes, leftovers from my whatever-it-was with the Dread Pirate Roberts. The idea is to let the disappointment gently fade and leave me wiser and better. I do things like that from time to time, but I usually don't talk about them much. What would you think if I posted more about the spiritual stuff? (Not in a jam-it-down-your-throat kind of way, because that would be the most disrespectful thing I could possibly do to people who are kind enough to read my LJ. Just some of the details of what I do and why, when it seems appropriate.) heh, I suppose I already do some of that, in a sense, with the Card-a-day spread. (Which I've neglected since I fought the X-files-Robot-Roach and got so sick and whatnot.)

Let me know what you think about it. I'm interested.

I'm curious to hear more about your rituals. Sorry to hear things are overwhelming at work. Time to use some company postage... :)

Yeah?

Would you like to know how I did the mending heart ritual?

I took some red cloth and cut two pieces into identical heart-shapes. Then I cut one of the hearts in half, right down the middle. I stiched up the sides of the heart very carefully, sewing the broken halves to the whole one until the split heart was on the front and the whole one was the backing. (while thinking of how I felt and everything I would have liked to change.) When I'd finished,I turned the heart inside out, (think pillow) and I used some of the extra bits left from the cloth to stuff into the heart corners.
Inside the middle of the split heart I stuffed some thistledown collected this late summer. (thistle traditionally helps bind wounds and staunches blood. It's used for first-aid sometimes by herbalists.) When the heart ws well-stuffed, I sprinkled some rosewater into the thistledown, then stitched up the front, while thinking of how I'd like to heal and what I want to remember and learn. when I was done I sprinkled the front with a little more rosewater and it now rests at the head of my bed, where I take it down and hold it sometimes.

So far it really does help me feel better...a combination of doing something lovely with my hands, aromatherapy, headology, magic, and just having something nice to hold.

I want you to post whatever you feel like posting, Mausi. If you feel like posting witchy stuff, post witchy stuff. If you feel like entertaining, then entertain away. I just want you to be you. That's all. This is your journal, deary.

I'm glad you did a little ritual work to let this pass. I'm really sorry that the Dread Pirate Roberts pulled another flake-out on you. The Bastid! He's clearly not Maus worthy.

And as far as your audience is concerned, if people don't like what they read, they don't have to read it. But that's just Badass Phiggy talkin.

I love it when you get all badass:)

and yeah, I'm getting less and less impressed with this guy as time goes by. I'm really hurt by it--not so much because he flakes out, but because I thought I deserved a little more honesty than this because we'd known each other for years:P

Feh.

Goes to show that history doesn't necessarily mean respect.

Feh feh feh.

but I have lots of stuff to do without worrying about whether someone likes me or not.

Thass right, sistah! Don't your forget it.

Stupid bois take up far too much of our brainspace sometimes. Why do we allow that? There's so much more interesting and worthwhile stuff in there.

I'm of the school that you should use your journal as you see fit... and anyone reading is, more or less, being voyeuristic, viewing whatever you want to show.

If you want to do it... by all means!

This is your journal. That means that you are free to write about whatever it is that you want to. If anyone has a problem with that, they aren't being forced to read this...

*nods*

this is very true...but for some reason I've been very careful about my content sometimes. I've been doing this for years, to you'd think I'd be a bit more relaxed about this sort of thing.

You don't need to be so nervous. We are all here because we like you and enjoy reading what you have to say. I can almost guarentee that all of the people that read your journal would still read it if you started to be a little more open with certain aspects of your personal world.

I skim over your card readings, or [livejournal.com profile] cynnerth's horoscopes, or [livejournal.com profile] lexanlet's posts about Orthodox Christianity. I'm not particularly interested, but I respect and understand other people's beliefs. The terrible price people pay in return is that they have to skim over me moaning about the same old stuff.

It's more important for you should think about what you want to do this for. If you want to put this stuff in LJ, you should do it. If you want to be able in the future to go back and see what you wrote about this stuff, you should put it in.

Having said all that, I'd pay attention at least the first few times you posted about rituals. I've known people who do them, but they're always a bit vague about it, and I'm curious.
