Meetings and partings...
Dec. 27th, 2000 02:04 pm"The world is made of meetings and partings--that is the way of it."--Charles Dickens.
It's something I (and apparently a great many other people) have been grappling with lately. Breakups, family, memories of people long since gone away. Finding friends and losing them to circumstance or clashes of beliefs, socieites, needs, wants, and distance. Losing family members and gaining them, visiting during the holidays and dealing with all the good or bad feelings they bring us. Looking forward to the return of friends or the arrival of new family. My brother and sister-in-law are expecting, due in June...and it looks like it might be twins. A friend of mine has come out of depression, and we're talking again. and a pen pal has retreated into silence...could be a vacation, could be anthing...
I had a dream one about everybody I knew that cared about each other being in a room at a party.
Nothing got in the way of their just being glad to see each other. Not distance, feuds, or death. Maybe that's the only way we can swing that, in an idealized fashion, but it sure was a lovely, compelling dream....
Ms Fledermaus, with more heavy food for thought...

I miss John Lennon...
Date: 2000-12-28 08:00 am (UTC)(It was a rough winter and spring; John lennon in December, and my stepdad later that May.) Isn't that odd? Missing somebody you'd never met and wasn't really old enough to understand at the time?
Ms F, hoping Yoko Ono comes to the opening here at the Rhymes-with Stalker...I gots to meet me that lady...and for reasons other than her involvement with Mr Lennon:)
