Nope, nope, not allowed, c'mon--you have to go to work sometime.:P

Did I mention I started crocheting again? S'true. I went thrifting this weekend with Ms Phiggy and found some mohair-type yarn and a crochet needle. I've been obsessively crocheting this last weekend...

(*Image from this weekend--me sitting on Ben the Neighbor's couch watching "South Park" and eating pizza, wearing my leather jacket..and crocheting with black yarn.
Hard core, bebeh...*)

Now soon I'll need more yarn, since I apparently started to make a nice comfy nap-blanket. It's relaxing, and I can do it *and* read a book at the same time.
Heh. I'm talented, I am! And when the war news starts that horrible pit in my stomach again, I just start working on the nice blanket.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be up to my pointy ears in black yarn before long...I'm almost out already....

That's why the airlines won't let you knit or crochet on the planes anymore:)

Another LJ friend had recently suggested quilting when war news upsets. I agree with you both. I've read that the simple repetitive motion of hand quilting (or crocheting) induces a Zen like state in your mind.

I think that's very true. something repetitive and yet satisfying, and it does seem to help. I hear the yarn shops have absolutely exploded with customers since the war's broken out.

Quilting would be really good too...I tried a crazy quilt once that was an absolute disaster, but it was fun trying:)

there must be something in the air (or water) for I just finished crocheting a scarf on Friday and started a new one on Sat.... and I can not seem to slip through the living room without stopping and finishing a few rows!

but with a book.... that I can not do! am-mazing!

I'm working on a crocheted hat, so I'm dizzy from going around and around and around:)

The trick for reading while crocheting is to get a big hardcover, (paperbacks *will* not work) use your yarn to pin down the pages, and read a few lines, crochet a few rows, read a few lines...it's slow, but it's kind of fun:)
