The longest week in quite a while...

I'll be glad to get Friday out of the way. I thought it would never get here.

My show in November at Caffeto's has been verified. I'll be sharing with one other person, but will have the fun of filling up most of the wall space myself. *rubs hands and grins* I think I can do that. Yes, I think I can.

Meanwhile I'm still working on cards. And knitting. I'm up to my first sleeve now for my first sweater. I think I may have enough yarn left over for a matching scarf:)


I've also been over at a friend's lately who needed a shoulder...the very nice guy she'd been dating for a month broke out with a bad case of the "I don't want to date you exclusively" hives. (As in 'I don't want a girlfriend, but maybe we can hang out and stuff can happen'...sound familiar?) The gent in question seems startled and suprised to find she doesn't want to see him anymore. Jen and I listened to the Cure for awhile and we cheered each other up a bit...but ever since I heard about it I've been a bit depressed. If I had a nickel for every time that's happened to me or someone I knew. She deserves better.

At least it's Friday. And I can see if I can finish a sleeve in a night when I get home.

The "I don't want to date you exclusively" hives is just weird to me. If you want to break up, break up. None of this mamby pamby stringing it out crap.

Precisely my thoughts on the subject. Of course what's usually going on when someone says that is that they want the physical side without having to deal with any of the emotional stuff...like friendship, say...or even common civility.
Jen's wise to walk away from it. It's annoying because this keeps on happening, to my friend, tome, to most of the women and a handful of the men I know. It sucks.

I can understand wanting just the physical side, but I don't think I could do it. And even if I could, it would have to be a mutually understood thing. I couldn't pretend to string someone along like that just for sex. People that do that are just plain bad and not worth the time.
