At what point did clowns become something to be feared? I am old enough to remember small travelling circuses and the clowns were fun.

Did you ever wonder why Himself has SUCH an intence clown phobia?
When very, very small he was taken to a circus...and one of the center ring clowns, no doubt suitably horrorific, spotted him and ran over to shake his little hand.

That was it, boy. The kid freaked and hasn't been back since. You should see the look on his face when he comes up against a real mime...

Sometimes that's all it takes, just one Incident...I still glare at giraffes suspiciously because that one giraffe stole my loafer when I was at the Honolulu Zoo at a kindegardner.
