State Faiiiiir!

msfledermausI. Love. The. State. Fair.
I went yesterday after work with a couple of coworkers; Jo and Sue. Sue had just had a breakup, so she needed some serious cheering up only a Pronto Pup can give you.
We strolled around the fine arts exhibit, voting for our favorites, then ran amok looking for stall for kebabs and corn on the cob and cookies and ice cream and meatballs and the elsuive pickle-on-a-stick. (We didn't find it. Oh well, maybe this weekend!) Jo and I rode a couple of rides, screaming in the funny schlocky Haunted one. (memo to myself...ride+skirt=very awkward...) And of course there was the creme de la creme..ye Old Mill ride! The conversation in the ride was the best...
"Oh my god! It's so DARK!"
"Aiigh! Quit freaking me out with your hand!"
"Where's the gnomes? You promised me gnomes!"
"hang on, the gnomes are coming, see? Oh wait, that's the cut-out Bambi...No really, they're in mere somewhere!"
"This is some kind of make-out ride, isn't it?" *giggle*
"yeah, how do YOU know about the make-out ride, Michelle?"
"Nuthin....See? Gnomes!!!" *point point*
"Awww, it's the rides 90th anniversary!! Lookit the cake in the diorama!"
There is nothing better than the State Fair, especially in good weather when it's not crowded at all!
*siigh*
And before bed I went up to the roof to have a good look at Mars at it's closest.
It was humbling. and the wind was surprisingly cool.....
