msfledermaus*Does the "Damn, I'm happy it's October" dance for quite some time....*
Now that it's nice and cool I've been trying to bellydance more. This summer it was just too hot to really keep it up. (Memo to myself: next summer you're getting a nice new air conditioner.) It's tiring but a lot of fun...I found out my calves are in much better shape than I realized, but I keep screwing up the Shiva thing at the end. (apparently stepping around in a slow circle is juuust a little too complex for me:) It's useful stuff, bellydancing. I found out it's possible to shimmy and headbang at the same time when I went to the Horton heat concert. Rasputina shuld be even more fun to dance to. Woowoo!
Plus I can use my hips to bump doors open or closed while I'm carrying laundry or whatnot. *snickers a little*
The drawing's picking up just a touch... a coworker commisioned me to make a cute Halloween bridal-shower card, which I cranked out at lunch. (A witch in a bridal gown, pointy hat wreathed with flowers, and stripey socks. Very cute.)
I've got all the components to finish the sculpture piece I've been working with on and off. And another coworker gave me a sheaf of papers yesterday that contained all of my old cartoons when I was a security guard, years ago.
(I got promoted a few times since then...but I was indeed a proud wearer of The Monkey Suit at Rhymes-With-Stalker, along with just about every artist and musician in the city.) Humbling stuff, flipping through those....I'd lost all my copies when an ex ended up with a box of all my best books and childhood photos and such. I lost the copies too, except foir a small handful of backups. It's kinda nice having a small chunk of personal artistic history handed back to you like that....
