What if you gave a Flash Mob...
Oct. 16th, 2003 07:28 pm..and nobody came?
The Minimalist Inferno was so excited to hear we were supposed to be getting a flash mob of our very own--we even had a special wall and everything for them , so they could come put up artwork. (which was apparently the mob's plan; loose lips sink ships, apparently--we found out from the HR director's son.)
So a bunch of us, all curious and wanting something interesting to happen at work, waited...and waited...and waited. Nuthin'. A whole big fat empty wall of nuthin'...except for the scattering of disappointed-looking staff members and a lonely cop.
Were we tricked? Could be. Or the organizers could have found out that WE had found out, and cancelled. Or people just were that apathetic. Who knows? Not me. Even though I stayed patiently, looking very very hopeful. (I did see someone I thought might be Honeytiger, who asked me if I was from some kind of convention. My brilliant asnwer..."Uhhhh...no...sorry!"
But it wasn't a complete washout. I ended up talking knitting, crochet and trying to play hackeysack with some guy by the name of Hans. (I suck at hackeysack, which shows how charming I found Hans. *Blush*) It just felt nice to hang out and flirt a very little bit. Heh. I thought I'd forgotten how or something. *grin*
