Happy Day of the Dead!!
Nov. 1st, 2003 07:45 pmI think Halloween went so well I'm going to keep celebrating it until at least the middle of November. So. There. In fact, I'm going to a post-Halloween ATPH gig and another party tonight. Woowoo!
Some Halloween highlights:
Painting and knitting and painting and getting things done for the coffeehouse.
Picking out my costume.
Buying candy.
Eating candy.
Making stuffed horse-head to stick onto Witch broom for Bent he Neighbor's costume. (The Wicked Witch of the Wild West. Yeehaw!)
Helping Peter with his kimono, hairpins and makeup. (The Wicked Witch of the Far East. Too cute!)
Taking pictures.
Skewering piled-up hair with curly willow branches. I am the Bride of the Trees!
Draping black scarf over twiggy head: am now the Widow of Trees.
Eat candy.
Help Jen with Zombie-cheerleader makeup. Make pom-poms out of white garbage bags. dump glitter on self. Try to get cat hair off self. Giggle.
Ride bus full of Halloweeners... Lots and lots of Zombies aboard. Braiiins....
Dancing and hanging out and schmoozing. Realize boots may be for walking but are not really made for standing. Sit quite a bit, bobbing head to music.
Eat candy.
Drink Red Bull.
Fend off various gropey people. What is it with this new club habit of getting WAAAAy too close to someone without even saying hello?
Duck a lot so twigs don't get stuck in streamers.
Dance with Death. Death is kinda grabby. I find excuse to wander off.
Jen and I try to catch a cab--no luck--wait in 7th Street Entry until Jen's bouncer boyfriend gets off work. We are amused and annoyed by drunken guy with glo-sticks--mostly annoyed.
Get home. Laboriously get sticks out of hair. Takes 20 minutes. Take long shampoo-filled shower. Fall asleep before head hits pillow....
So there you are...
