...I don't *wanna* go to work...*whinnne* I'm busy designing clothes to make when the yarn comes!!!

I've been sketching out a cardigan and a spring sleeveless tunic. The tunic is *gasp* NOT BLACK...but this weird fair-isle thing I'm going to try based on the packaging of this really pretty Indian incense packaging I have. This should keep my evil little hands quite busy for some time...

*twitch twitch*

You all are lucky I can't afford the really fast shipping...or I would never, ever, ever come out. So. There. Yes, I'm a freak. But I'm a freak who will have purty clothes:)

You'll be a well dressed freak...

...and that will make me feel good. Plus the damn stuff will *fit* properly!!! And I'll know it didn't come from some third-world slave setup, to boot.

I think this summer I should invest in a small knitting machine...then I could design and knit faster:)

Is that something like the Keebler Elves?

Does that meanI have to feed them toll house cookies to make them work? I can do that!!!

Maybe but then you'd need a big enough tree to house them all. Would that fit in your apartment?

I think I'd have to rent some studio space, complete with tree.. Dang elves...they're spendy to house:P

It can get mighty pricey, what with finding the right tree and helping them build their little houses and work spaces all through it. That sounds like a pretty labor intensive job to me.

Maybe I should skip the elves and hire grade-schoolers:)

But then you've got all those pesky child labor laws to worry about...

And they'd keep crying for cookies and naps...:P

and i'd join then in the cookies and naps, and we'd never get anything done...we'd all be too busy coloring with the jumbo glitter crayons...

Pfeh. Guess that puts me back at a knitting machine or elves:)

Mmmmm... * thinking about sharing a cookie and napping with you * ; )

If you go with the machine, you're going to have to worry about taking care of it and all the upkeep that goes into it. It's just a neverending cycle...

heh...

True about the machine, but thankfully knitting machines aren't too hideously complex, at least the little ones...it's basically a combination of sewing machine-style parts and a sort of loom contraption. If I can keep my postage meter from 1992 and all the damn copiers going at work, a knitting machine should be a piece of cake.

Now watch me say that and I get one that doesn't work;)

Huh... That thing sounds like it's old and steam driven like one of those big machines that they always have in the films.

He just laid off most of our maintenance staff this week...people we *need* to keep this place from falling apart around our ears. I'd quit if the job market wasn't so awful.

Maybe you could sort of look around without quitting your current job. That way you can see if there is anything else out there whithout loosing your current job.

OOh, that looks cool! I should show that to the Scraggit, since she is CrochetDiva Extraordinaire:) I'm only so-so at crochet, but I like to use it for borders instead of picking up stitches around knitted stuff...

When the weather gets a little warmer I'm thinking of a Knit and Crochet night at Dunn bros since they have nice big tables. Whaddaya think? I'll hit the thrift stores and have extra scary yarn to goof off with and everything.*grin*
