Autodidactic and I went to the Closing Party at Rhymes-With-Stalker last night. We gleefully stuffed ourselves with exotic canape's and took pictures and glided through the galleries like the lovely birds of plumage we were that night. Ms. Didactic wore this lovely red sequined creation that impressed the hell outta me, and I wore mostly black with a black-and-mulitcolored earth-tone-shrug I made just for the hell of it. (Well, where else am I going to wear something knitted with that much gold thread?) I had a chance to say one last goodbye to many of the guards that were there...quite a few are my friends, and I'm hope we'll see each other around.

Stuff that went on:

Various waving and hugs and air-kissing for the One Thousand and One Coworkers.

Postcard picking.."OOh, Hannah Hoch! And another! and another!"

Funny, and solemn, and sometimes sad conversations on both sides.

Twirling in pretty party gowns.

Eating tiny Frenched lamb hors d'ovres. And weird sushi things. And tiny mini-hamburgers. And salmon pizza with caviar. And tiny chocolates. And chicken salad in clever tiny chinese-takeout containers. And free champagne. And free champagne. and free champagne...

Jasper Johns....We both liked the purple one best.

Running into Chris Jones, running into ex-coworkers all over the place, running into the coworker I have a mad mad crush on who gave me a huge sweaty hug. *siiigh*

Getting a much appreciated lift home, reading Ellen forney and Roberta Gregory comics Ms Didactic snuck in with my illos she returned to me, (Awwww!) and falling asleep to a green globe night-light I bought on sale the day before....

Now I'm going to make toast and knit for a while, in blissful contentment....mmmmmmmm......
