Beat's workin'...espeially lately. I have the proverbial Load of Shit waiting for me when I get to work. At least I forced my bosses to get me a last-minute Envelope-Stuffin' Monkey to help me with it all. Go, Monkey, go!

You know, if you can get some simple wool yarn you can dye it with Kool-aid? True fact--I have the recipie and everything. I've never done it, but I'm thinking of trying some this spring and learning to spin. I'd love to make my own yarn just to see what I'd come up with!

I know walnut and onion skin and woad are good wool dyes, very old ones. usually you need some kind of mordant with it--an iron or copper or something. I know some people who go the Rit route, and they swear by it, if I'm too chicken to make my own dyes.

i think it's so cool you invented your own dyes:) I remember playing with walnuts on the ground and getting green sap all over me...which turned brown:) I couldn't get it off for a *long* time:D

That sounds really beautiful. I think you should take a photo; lots of people would appreciate such craftsmanship. It's really tricky making boxes out of one piece, I know that much...

maaan, dremels are nuthin' less than gifts from the Gods, yep yep yep!
