%$&* Bus strike...
Mar. 24th, 2004 07:51 am...someone at work gave me a link to write to Mr. Paulenty and the head of th Mtro counil. I think I have a pretty good idea what I'm going to write. the tough part is getting all the obsenities out of it.:/ basially it would be something along the lines of, "Your callous attitude about the transit for a major metropolitan area is a discredit to your position and the people you serve. Many of us with financial burdens are being burden even heavier by the absence of arbitration in this matter. It also seems churlish that people who are trying to help end the gridlock everyon complains about by using mass transit are callously now told to drag thir cars out or "you should be riding a bike anyway". When it starts getting rainy an the storm season starts, I'd like to see you bike 10 miles to work or a friend's. An what about the elderly who use the buses for most of their needs? It's not fair to leave them to struggle with nothing but a vague promise to put aside money to help them. The amount on the Metro website is woefully inadequate for a long, drawn out strike...
(here's the bit that needs altering)
In short, you're greedy uncaring bastards that are more than happy to screw over th populace of two cities as long as you've got yours, an then chukle about how "We don't really need mass transit now, do we?" I'm gonna remember every extra dollar I spend for transport, every extra step, every damn friend of mine that's been "inconvenienced" by your neglect...and I'll take it right to the voting booth, buster. Bite me."
