Hi hi hi hi hihihiiii!

I'm at Ben the Neighbor's using his computer and cooking currywith Pipa Pete. Pete and I were chewing over decorating options for the new apartment and eating popsicles. *siiigh* I suuure needed this downtime.
The review went....well, okay, considering they added extra stuff to my job, like driving to get the mail and delivering people's mail personally. And I have some new inventories to type up...and I saved them $20, 000 in office supplies...and as a reward I get to clean up the coffee stations, make sure file doors are closed and "do something about those boxes". Ahem. I *need* the boxes, mister...they're full of er....things you need in a mailroom? My raise is the same raise everyone's getting. Anyway Isuppose the upshot is I want out. I have some time to shop around, but it's gonna be tough since I'm going to be even busier at work than before. I'm already kind of a basket case; I don't want the burn-out to get even worse.
But I'm still so happy with my new apartment. Petey was in raptures running around it rearranging laquered boxes and painted screens. Jen gave me her papa-san-chair, which is now Home of the Knitting. Cosy. It's so cosy. And damn, do I love my friends. Cherubim and Autodidactic sent me stuff in the mail, and people keep squishin' me really good. *squishes Ben the Neighbor is a big hug* I feeeeel the squishin, I do. It makes the work thing easier.
I'll check in again soon when I get a chance, but it might take me a bit. But I miss you all very much:/
I will have a new tower soon, I'm told. Goooooooood...
*blows a kiss*

Date: 2004-06-01 11:13 pm (UTC)cha, i can.
that quote about the boxes- that's priceless,
and it hits it right on the head. the people in charge
of giving me a raise don't even know what my duties are!
let alone what i need in order to accomplish them.
and now, i have a new boss who came from corporate presidency
to academia directorship- and here i am, doing HER job
while trying to keep on top of mine. it's an impossible situation.
the saddest part is, i wish i knew how to use it to
my advantage- get a huge raise (haha) a title change
resulting in a raise- but that has never been my way,
so i am ill prepared.
i wish you luck on the job front
and lotsa fun in your new place!
*blows kisses back*
