I'm very glad I took a day off from work today--it's a kind of early birthday present. I slept in a bit, cleaned up the apartment, made a nice big breakfast. I've got some jasmine tea with honey, and today I'm going to plug my resume into the U of M website for a couple of openings. I dropped another copy of it off at the MIA last night as well. (I emailed them a copy a while back...I think I forgot to add my phone number to it. D'ohhhhh... hopefully this will be a better idea.)

I feel a lot better now that I've got something in motion. and if things get a little tight with the money, I can cope. I keep juggling plans and needs and possibilites around to see how they fit in various "What if" scenarion.--What if I find something right away, what if I don't, what if I can't hang on for a while longer at the Inferno....

And my posts won't be so panicked and serious once I get over this thing. I'll be a better Maus for it, I think...

Yep ... do it! If he's saying things about you, you need to get your side of the story in.

I never did that at the hospital and I regretted it a little bit after I left. I could have submitted plenty of incidents to hr on several different people but I really went with the 'fuck it, it's not worth my time and energy' route.

However if you think he really is gearing up to fire you .. and you think it's a real possibility .. I'd report everything.

yeah, I remember the hospital...that's why I was thinking of talking to *his* boss and whatnot. I remember how badly your old job treated you, and how much better you seemed to feel after getting out.

It's all I can do not to egg your old workplace. I have eggs, you know!!1

Someone egged a bunch of cars on my street the other day come to think of it. I need to go wash it this weekend. I doubt it did any damage to the paint since it froze on contact.

Certainly go to his boss. I knew I wanted to leave and I decided that it wasn't worth it for me, but that's me. If other people have trouble with him too, then it's not just you and his boss should hear about it.

I've been seeing that in my neighborhood too...what's up with this, anyway? i hope your car didn't get hurt:(

My director's assistant has been carefully letting her know that not only is there trouble, but that we're afraid for our jobs if we complain about it. i've heard she may not be too happy with him anyway because of various things. And his behavior is getting more and more erratic and hostile, now that I think about it. At our health benefits meeting he tried to blame the price hike on the pregnant women, and was speedily corrected by the rep they sent...

that's why I'm giving it a go. If it was my old boss, like you, I wouldn't really have much recourse. I can definitely understand why you probably felt like it wouldn't help anything...

Hmmm ... yeah, if I were you I'd definitely give things a go ... sounds like you're not alone so there's a good chance he's not being taken very seriously.

Oh, and also, I knew that our hr department was useless and there really wasn't anywhere else for me to go, so that impacted my decision a lot. You at least have someone to talk to.
