Boobies! In public, even!

...working in museums, like libraries, often can expose you the good, the bad and the ugly of the American public. Often this manifests inself in art museums as people drawing boobies. I had no less than 3 different guys, (1 teen, 2 middle-aged guys) on my floor drawing their own interpretations of various historical art pieces--sans head, arms and sometimes legs, which the art in question clearly has...just er, torsos. It's actually a little gross and disturbing--I mean, c'mon, if you're going to drool over a nice dryad or something, at least draw her head if you're going to objectify her. Nude can be tasteful, graceful, emotive, instead of a headless boobie-creature...


Yeees, I walk around nekked people. Lotsa nekkid people. All day long. I just thought I'd emphasize that again.

That is disturbing, but maybe they never learned to draw heads. When I do heads, they always look cartoony.

I blame whoever broke the arms off the Venus de Milo sculpture.

Yeah, but you still do them, don't you? I mean, these boobies are well-shaded, and they're spending a *lot* of time on them! I think they're just not...interested...in drawing the head, you know?

yeah, I'm gonna go get a time machine and go and find that guy and spank him blue for making us all draw headless armless torso people. With a wooden spoon, even!

It's not as if the art museum is the only place they can indulge in this "artisitc" fetish. Maybe they should check out www.domai.com so they can draw from real live European models.
