I saw something interesting on the way to work today...

...Someone's rented out my old unit in the Crackstack I used to live in. The poor suckers. (among other things, my apartment over there was always roaring hot this time of year.) I know this because they've stuck an a/c unit in the window....sort of. It's, er, mostly inside, really tilted and the window it's in is wide open so it'll fit. Not only that, but the a/c is so heavy it's pushing out the screen, so it's all buckled and gapped around the windowsill. I'm suprised it hasn't come off already. Soooo...I guess this means there's someone reeeeeeally kind of stupid living in my old place. Anyone suprised? No, me neither.

...I had a good time hanging out with the Emily last night, eating duck and squid and talking about eyeballs and sculpture and spinning and weird worky things. I always enjoy her company:) I was evil and brought her some leftover pound cake for breakfast...bad Maus. Bad, bad Maus:)

You may remember that our former landlord is a heating and a/c guy. Well one very very hot summer in Milwaukee, he started getting some weird questions. The one I liked best was, "I just bought a new window a/c unit and it's too big for the window. It'll work okay if I just have it sitting on the kitchen table, right?"
