I switched browsers...and it worked like a charm.

(It was a relief, too, since I had been following idrections so well and things kept getting screwed up anyway.)

so you were right--it's my copy of Netscape that's the porblem, and i can update that now, or just use Explorer when I want to link to something.

And now i can do italics, too! Thanks, Kev!!!

Bold is just like italics, but with a b, not an i.
The centre tag is, um, center (US spelling)
The colour thing is a bit harder. I did it this way: <font color='green'>colour</font> (US spelling in there again).

When you're replying, the Preview button is handy: you can see if you got it right.
