I mean, I'm a lot more coherent and everything:)
Knitting night was the usual fun--later I need to put up the link for my friend Morgan's new blog, which I'm looking forward to reading in a bit more depth. Where does the time go? Arrrgh, I need more of it!!!
We were also talking about...let's see here--parasites, urban tea-houses, and various stories about funny work experiences. The best one was Mamichan telling us about a teen group she took on a tour. Mamichan took them to see the Warhol piece 12 Jackies, and the girls all thought that the painting was about Ashlee Simpson. Mamichan then had to explain that it was Jackie Kennedy...and then who Jackie Kennedy was...and then who JFK was...and that Andy Warhol painted the piece before Ms. Simpson was even born, so no it couldn't possibly be her, really, honest. I was in stitches the whole time...
Working with the public teaches you one important thing, over and over and over....people can be breathtakingly dumb. Not everybody, not all the time, but enough and often enough to make your jaw drop with the incredible horror....the horror...
Anyway, I'm off to run around and see more of the "Duh" factor myself. Wheeee!!!

Date: 2005-10-26 03:47 pm (UTC)I once had to explain to a little girl that Paul McCartney was in another group first.
It sort of made me feel old.
