The last couple of days have been kinda cool...I've spent it either out and about doing errandy stuff and visiting friends, or knitting small things on the couch. Sometimes both at the same time. Fairly boring stuff, but it's too cold to do anything super-action-adventure or anything. Besides, it gave me the chance to help with the Best Meatloaf Ever...and boy was it worth it. You shoulda had some of this meatloaf, I'm tellin' you. Leftovers? Bah!!! We all made that sucker vanish within the space of an hour...

I also got a chance to watch a couple of episodes of Nero Wolfe...HO-lee cow, how did I miss THIS?! It's really great stuff! I buried myself under blankets and was completely engrossed, it was just so good...

Anyway, just the usual...I'm in my little clip-on-tie. There's a day Captain position that's opened up, and the bossman growled at me, "I want to see your application in my hands this week, Ma'am." Whoa...
(The chances of me actually getting it are a bit slim; I know other people are applying and I need some more training. But what a flattering thing to tell me!)

Aye, aye, Captain. Aaargh! Oh, yer not up for pirate ship Cap'n?? My apologies, but good luck with the potential promotion. Maybe they're trying to say they don't want such a charismatic force to be reckoned with as union steward. I was offered a supervisor position once that I really should have taken, but chose to remain active in the union instead.
