...I had a good evening last night after work--Just giving myself a chance to relax and such. No cooking, just vietnamese take-out. No chores, No worrying. Just some quiet downtime with a book and later on practicing with the spinning wheel. I'm getting pretty good now, and that makes me happy since it was such a rough start figuring everything out. It's gratifying to know how to fix the little quirks of my machine and to have the hang of how the wool handles. And after a couple of cd's, I have about 80 yards of homespun yarn to call my own. (Not much 2-ply yet--still have to buy myself a Lazy Kate to hang onto the bobbins. I suppose I could just wind it all on my drop spindle, though.) So far the music that seems to work best while spinning is: Anything from Rasputina, a fair amount of Chemical Brothers, KMFDM, Concrete Blonde...suprisingly, Portishead. Anything with a good interesting beat, in other words. I should try my old Bauhaus cd's...

More later, time to walk to and fro, back and forth,up and down...

My FreeKee Husband gave me a Rasputina CD for Christmas. I must have been a very good girl. :)

That's one of my favorites, especially for "If your kisses won't hold the man you love then your tears won't bring him back"...good stuff!
