I shouldn't keep reading the news. Bad Maus, bad bad Maus. There's so much more I should do other than read the news. I'm working on a Gastrological chart for what kind of food you are...it's not done yet. I could be knitting. I could be staring off into space, drooling on my clip-on tie. But nooooo, I read the paper. The Star-Trib, even, which has recently dumbed-down a lot of it's writing to up it's circulation numbers...I think I lost a brain cell just reading the front page.

It's kind of funny....now that we've been living in our Brave New World for quite some time, I often assume that things can't get much worse for us politically...and then get unpleasantly suprised by the headlines. I'd pick one, but, again, there's just so much to choose from. I think the one that really got to me today was that poor family in Anoka that had to deal with the nut-job protesters at their son's funeral. The protestor's mission statement--that soldiers are dying because God hates us for being nice to GLBT people--just floors me. Floors me, I tell ya...

Dear Extremist nut-jobs of any religious denomination: Please, please, in the name of humanity, just knock it all off...let everybody sleep at night and stop trying to hamstring everybody who wants our species to survive the next century...Just stop. Please.

*tired unhappy muttering*

Something to remember about those protesters... They all come from one church that is not affiliated with any religious group and the congregation is nearly all made up of the extended members of one family. Also there is the fact that there is now an organized response to what they are doing so, when they arrive to protest, they will be met by people who will tell them where they can stick it.

Yeah, Phelps and co. do a lot of stuff up here in my beloved city. I guess this is a gig run by his daughter...no wonder she's deranged, with a dad like that...

A friend of mine who does electornic music did this hilarious song with Phelps quotes from an interview. Totally wonderflully funny--I should get another copy and link it up...

that soldiers are dying because God hates us

Not exactly. He says that the soldiers deserved to die for this reason.

The messages sounds pretty sick either way...I've heard it both ways from ths Strib. Either way, they're bugging people burying their kids:(

The only problem that I have is that the family in charge of burying their departed loved one usually doesn't want to make a scene and let me and a few buddies take a day off (in jail) for pepper-paint-ball spraying the homophobes.

Stupid laws...

I hear there's another protest group that now pops up and heads off the original protestors...

Oh for a good round of pepper paint-ball...I bet you would make them smart for ages in the name of good justice:)

The good news: There's a Harley biker gang in WI that shows up to drown out the Kansas whack-jobs. Three cheers for the bikers.

The Governor is also supporting a bill to keep the protestors 500 ft. away.

That's good news...I heard something about the bikers, didn't know how many there were or anything. At least there's some attempt at some kind of snaity here.
