I had no good, cool way of organizing all this info...so I figured I'd just dump it out on the table and let people sift through for the occasional cool bead in all the lint...

I finished spinning this great red and blue and purple yarn, two-plying it with the drop spindle after spinning two bobbings on my wheel. The wheel still fights me a bit, poor old baby. On close inspection, apparently a puppy chewed on it too...the urge to paint the wheel in black spirals is getting stronger.

I got to see the Scraggits yesterday, which went nicely. Mr. Scraggit had a look at my recalictrant spinning wheel and we came up with a way to tighten the cog in the middle. So after workies I'm buying c-clamps and popsicle sticks. (If they're still attached to the popsicles...well, so much the better:)

Ben and Petey have baby chicks. Cute, tiny peeping baby chickens. Cute, tiny, peeping, downy baby chicks. Awwwwww....

Ben and Petey also gave me a bottle of tequila with demons all over it, at first hiding it behind their backs and claiming they'd brought me back a chupacabra from their trip. Okay, a bottle of tequila is not quite as cool as a chupacabra, but I shouldn't look a bottle of demon alcohol in the mouth...

The contract sweater I'm knitting is pretty cool, lots of cables that look a lot harder than they really are to make. I'm still pretty proud of it so far:)

March means it is in theory going to be spring....soonish....okay, eventually...

I keep reading schmaltzy fantasy novels that I know kinda suck....I think my brain wants the literary version of mac and cheese instead of the nice vitamins a historical or scientific book would give me. Or maybe it's because I can take it into the bathtub with me and not care if I drop it. Whichever.

Some teachers somewhere have decided that it was a good idea to drop about a hundred unsupervised 13 year olds into an art museum. Now picture in your mind the chaos that ensues. Yep, my day will be rich with anecdotes like, "This smarmy little creep tried to graffiti the Egyptian door and then laughed when I told him to put the Sharpie away. Can I duct-tape him to the Otis elevator upside-down, please? Please?!?"

I plan to get lots of sleeeeeeeeeping done tonight...without as much caffeine as I had yesterday...this means I won't wake up every hour going, "Spiders! Spider want me to tap dance! They want Ron Weasely, not MEEE!"

So there you are...

I read at cnn.com that some 12 year old kid stuck a wad of gum on a million dollar painting. The chemicals in the gum left a stain the size of a quarter. The kid did it on purpose thinking it was not as important as it turned out to be. He's suspended from school.

Schmaltzy books are what I call 'brain candy'. It's good to have one when you desire it.

Yep, it's so true...

How's the recovery going? Any brain candy getting you through the day?

It's an irritating slow moving recovery. And I can't read anything too long. :(
But I'll be home tomorrow!

This past weekend the Calatrava Wing of our Art Museum was rented for use for "Martini Fest". An owner of some radio and television
stations sponsored it. For $30, they could come in and have all the martinis they wanted. It was awful.

People were falling down drunk, vomited on the floor, climbed on statues etc.

Aw, I hate those kinda shindigs at museums; they're always so problematic:/ It's always hard to tell the drunken board member they can't grope the statue they bought us. Oh, the stories I could tell:)
