Busy as a busybody bumblebee...
Mar. 18th, 2006 02:58 pm....Bzzzbzzzbzzz...
Workies is full of people today, good and bad. so far I've fetched a wheelchair, told someone politely to get his butt off a pedestal, and helped feed a guard having a bad day. But I'll be glad to relax and have some weekend of my own soon.
I seem to have developed a new morning habit before work of spinning a little before I pack things up. So all morning I spent time trying to figure out what to make with a couple of skeins of pretty red and pruple and blue and black yarn I just finished. I have enough roving to do a third skein, which would be enough to make a shawl or something along those lines. Mmmmmm, homespun shawl...*drools* When I finish my contract sweater, maybe that's the next thing I should make.
Meanwhile I look out the windows and wonder how things are going. I know there was a big anti-war protest supposed to be going on this afternoon. And there was a bit in the paper today about whether Satan is real or not...I thought to myself, "How did they know about my coworker Gail?" and changed the letters from "Satan" to "Stan" all through the article. Gail just added, "Satan is real, he is your friend, he'll look out for you when you cross the street, and get a lima bean lodged in your windpipe."
So there you are, from an irrefutable source. Satan's spokesperson is my dear cow-irker Gail....

Date: 2006-03-22 03:38 pm (UTC)Most of us artistic types that still want to pay the bills end up working museum jobs not unlike this and paint or whatever as a second job. (Lately I've been doing textile stuff, but I still paint sometimes.)
Sounded like Matt and I missed each other at the WAC by about 7 months or so:)
