..I had my checkup yesterday, and at first everything seemed pretty normal. But after a while they thought they found something a little off--they think I might have a fibroid on my uterus. (I had never heard the term before yesterday.) I didn't start to get a little scared until they started using the term, "Growth" and my inner voice went, "AACK!" I've had and have no other symptoms, none at all...
So this afternoon I'm getting an ultrasound to check things out--make sure a fibroid's what it is, make sure everything's benign, see if I need surgery or treatment or whatever. Best case scenario,it's what the clinic thinks it is, and it can hang tough until it goes away on it's own. My fingers are very very crossed. I'm also damn glad I've got my new medical insurance.
Soooo...I'm trying hard not to be to nervous. But any kind thoughts would be welcome.

Date: 2006-03-28 05:22 pm (UTC)Just wanted to let you know that most of the time fibroids are nothing to worry about. They can be a pain, but 9 times out of 10, are nothing more than that. I hope yours are of that variety. My thoughts will be with you, and you will let us know, won't you??

Date: 2006-03-28 06:25 pm (UTC)FWIW, I had labroscopic "that area" surgery last May and while it hurt for a little while, it was just a little while. I was back to work in like 2 days.

Date: 2006-03-28 06:27 pm (UTC)I had the same thing a couple of years ago, they ended up just snipping it out at the doc's, it was over in 20 seconds and no pain.
Giselle and I will be coming to knitting late today (around 6).

Date: 2006-03-31 12:47 am (UTC)My wife and I had some scary weeks regarding a "something" they saw on her mamograms and sonogram, not fun. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing major (or minor) for that matter.
