Defenestrate: to throw out a window.

I knew this word for years, but this morning I taught it to my cow irkers on break. I am a proud, proud Maus:)

Ive heard that word before, but didn't know what it meant. It sounded like what they did in Viet Nam when we stripped all the trees and plants in an area. :^)

Defoliate! That's the word. Makes a lot more sense since it's foliage that was coming off.

I think that's one of 3 reasons I know of to learn French. The French word for window is "fenêtre," which would transbastardlates into "fenester," which may have been an English word at one time. Defenstrate made immediate sense to me the first time I read it.

Used in a sentence: "Sometime I want to defenstrate my television machine."
