Ah, the beginning of summer in Minnesota, with all the humidity that goes with it...

At least I have some yarn I spun to play with on break...It's some of the first stuff I dyed myself, mostly reds and purples with a little yellow thrown in for highlights and the occasional sparkly metallic. I should take pictures with my cellphone after I knit up a swatch of it. I keep meaning to post more pics, but it's tricky from a work computer everybody shares, and I've been either not home enough/too lazy to update the home computer. Bad Maus. Bad bad, Maus. But at least I still have those lovely lovely photos from Hawaii in here somewhere...*siiiiigh*


Maaan, I could use another dip on the beach right now. It's not even 7:30 and I'm already hot. Who's with me here?

The water in MN is still 50 degrees - so they are warning people not to go swimming this weekend - though it will be above 90 degrees - to avoid hypothermia.

Awww, but REAL Minnesotans would already have been swimming in our just-thawed lakes by now...It's almost expected that if you're a true-blue Minnesotan that you're going to jump into the freezing water...or push your best friends in first and lisen to the screaming that is the real start of summer:)

Back in '95 (if my memory for dates is right), I went out to visit a friend of mine in Baltimore. Being the brilliant travel planner that I am, I went there in the middle of July. That was just not good. I am really not a fan of any kind of weather that makes you feel like you haven't dried off after your shower if you go outside. You can chalk that trip up right next to the time that I visited the Minneapolis area... during the last week of December...

It's hot and humid here in Milwaukee too. I just had to turn on the A/C. Lovely lovely air conditioning.
