...I just have the same Halloween costume 5 days a week. Security people are scaaaaaaaary...Booga booga!!

Though I heard this weekend 7 people dresses as zombies who were dancing on the Mall downtown got arrested by the cops and held without charges. People were intimidated by the dancing zombies...I don't mean to sound harsh, but aren't people supposed to be intimidated by zombies? They just did a good job, that's all... This town can be so brutal to performance artists; just ask anybody. I think we need more costumes in general lately--things have gotten so snarled and horrible in the world that a little healthy zombie activity can be a cathartic experience...

Captain Emily says, "The only good thing to do now is to organize a zombie protest for our rights outside the police station." I concur. What do we want? Braiiiiiiins....When do we want 'em? Uhhh...Braiiiiiiiins....

Yup. The cops smashed their radios and everything, and tried to make out they were pursuing terroristic activity. I ask you:P

History question: When do you think the first marchers ever chanted "What do we want? xxxxxxxxx" When do we want it? Now!
I remember a march in Milwaukee 35 years ago when feminists were protesting lack of police action against rapes and assaults.
I don't remember what we put in the "What do we want....?" slot but we also directed one chant against the Chief of Police. We chanted "Fi-ire Brei-ire, Take Back the Night!!!"

Change of ground: When we were in Germany a few years ago we saw students protesting the fact the University was going to start charging tuition. They were all in black. Did some street theater.

I'm a big fan of street theatre...we don't have nearly enough of it here.

The way I heard it was The cops got calls about strange people doig strange things and had odd looking devices with wires hanging out in/on their backpacks. When asked by police what the devices were the actors continued to play zombie.
I don't recall if an issue about a permit came up either.

But really, if the Minneapolis cop asks you what that strange thing with wires is that you're carrying, life's easier if you just tell them.
The 'Simulated Weapons of Mass Destruction' is a national law that''s been around for a long while. It's to keep people from leaving fake bombs and diverting emergency personnel. Like shouting fire in a theatre.
So best thing is to break dead character and explain, I have little sympathy for them.

But the metro is haven for performance art, I mean look at Coleman's dad.... XD

Yeah, it was bad manners to not cooperate with the police, but the cops went waaaay over what was acceptable, and left themselves open to litigation to boot. You can't hold people without charges that long, and you can't threaten to shoot them in the head if they're not a threat.

As for Coleman's dad....*wheeze* Great Googaly Moogaly, now *there* was some news....Yikes.

The charge was 'Use of a simulated weapon of mass destruction'. Sorry I didn't clairify that.

I love Normy's response, 'I am deeply disturbed by this information.'
