I made it to the beauteous islands! Woohoo!!!

I'm at the Outrigger Waikiki, watching all the swimmers out the patio window. I was one of those swimmers a couple of hours ago. All my freckles are coming out from the sunlight, and I'm slathering myself with various goos so I don't fry like an egg every time I stick my head outside.
It's hard being a pale vampire-skin-type person in a tropical paradise. But I will persevere:)

I'm having lots of fun hanging out with the Queen of Stuff while MCohenmn's been working with his boss and planning meetings and whatnot. I'm borrowing his computer between various workity uses to check in. (Happily he gets to goof off more very soon--all three of us have such a good time travelling together.) Pictures are forthcoming when I get past the laziness and put them up...mostly they'll be of me with umbrellas stuck in my hair surrounded by empty mai-tai containers and probably with a starfish or something stuck to my head...I needed this vacation soooooooooo much. I'm so glad to be here:)

More soon, when I'm not bobbing up and down in the surf...

Oahu is really good, and the only island I'm familiar with at all. I'm going to the Big Island soon, so I can give you a progress report:)

I went to Nassau in October but that was before it got really cold so it didn't really matter... :( Make a sand castle!!

I made a sand-mermaid on the beach today...it lasted a whole hour before the tide got at it and some little kid walked on her. Now I can practice and make more elaborate ones:)
