Well, I was the one swimming, the sea turtles were just basking and looking at the humans in this amused reptilian way. A big wave picked me up and nearly set me on top of one. (I apologized profusely to the turtle, who gave me an amused smile and swam two feet away.) Last night when we were all having dinner five turtles came up on the rocks for a bit of a bask. We kept waiting for a waiter-turtle with a tray on his back to come up to the others and ask for their order.
Kona is a lot like a beachy Uptown--a bit more hip and a little less rich than Waikiki. The beaches are difficult, with lots of rocks and algae and--turtles!! Lots of people are snorkeling and checking out the fish. I think today is another swimming and snorkeling day...I know, sucks to be me. I suffer so:)
The only things fretting me at the moment are that I might need a new swimsuit since mine's getting a bit frayed from all the salt water paddling. (I *think* it'll last until the end of the trip. Or I might have to get a new one. Nooo, nooo, not another excuse to go shopping!!) I'm also getting back a bit later than I thought--Tuesday afternoon. That's not so bad, but I have to trudge out into the tundra again that evening to pick up my artwork from the art show I was in...I think I can suck it up, but ooooh, that's gonna suck...and then there's work the next day. OOoog. I was really enjoying being a lady of leisure...
So that means I'd better make these next two days particulary good, huh? Time to get some breakfast and go hang out with those turtles some more:)))
