Owwwww...

I just thought I'd hop into the local cafe before workies. I've been stuffing boxes and loading boxes and painting and hauling boxes and I'm gonna be so glad when there's no more boxes...but it's all okay. A little more packing tape, a few more boxes of Heftybags and it'll go well enough. And a little coffee should set me up nicely for work today...

Meanwhile the new Maushaus is starting to accumulate all those boxes at amazing speed. I went to my first member meeting last night, too. (I nearly fell asleep in the middle, but I *did* go:) Did I mention there was a lot of painting yesterday too? I bought a nice autumn red paint for the room that had the Gulden's Spicy Mustard colored walls...no longer!! Red red red!! And it really does look a lot better. I was also throwing out old furniture I didn't want to move...old bookcases and whatnot. Today after work I toss out more. It's oddly liberating in a way to make room for different stuff by throwing out old things. I think I'll make my deadline of everything ready to go by Saturday morning for the big move. And I am going to be one very happy batling once everything is shuffled into it's new home...

Oh hey, I had this great dream last night...something about being at an outdoor party or something and a plane was skywriting (skydrawing?) this big picture of a bat, and I was impressed and amused. I dreamed Sirreal had done it. He was quite proud of it, of course...Thanks for the cool image, Mikhail!!

Gotta motor, must eat pain du chocolate before dragging my box-lugging self to the jade Mines...

Hey, Maus. My friend Nina and I lugged my nightstands, the taken apart kitchen table (which I can't put back together until my cupboard is moved) and a small bookcase. It seems with all the emptying out, that there should be more room at the old place...and yet, I keep looking around and not seeing 'less' stuff.

I'm not painting - for awhile because the landlords JUST redid everything. It's ecru. The RED sounds great.

My truck (and my brother and nephew) arrives Sunday. I'm spending my first night at the new place on Sunday.

Good luck. If you lived closer, we'd have a great big BOX burning. I don't care if I ever see another one!

I'm so there...Torch the cardboard! Torch the cardboard!!! *does a silly victory-over-hauling-stuff dance*

I can hardly wait for the good part--the re-finding of all the stuff I've been squirreling away all this time. I miss my books!!

OOh, that first night in the new place is pretty cool, hah? I haven't done that yet, but I will this weekend. It'll be so weird, the sounds are so different on the island.

For me, the sounds will be different too. I've been living at a major intersection. I'm going to be living right off a golf course. (I can Xcountry ski there in the winter!)

I miss my books, as well. I've tried very hard to pare them down, but...they're BOOKS. I have a seriously hard time trying to get rid of them. I have taken LOADS of stuff to the Mission or the Salvation Army (whichever one I am closer to, at the time!)

Good luck with your move! It's nice to have someone who is doing the same thing to share and compare with! Your new place sounds amazing.

Yes, yes, TORCH THE CARDBOARD!

Another Ambien Moment

I don't remember ever taking Ambien or skywriting, but maybe I was sleep-skywriting due to some Ambien that someone must have slipped into my Malbec at Cafe Buenos Aires last night! Thanks for the heads up. Glad you liked the Fledermaus I may or may not have drawn!!!
