*long sigh of relief*
May. 28th, 2007 08:44 pmAfter weeks of packing, days of lugging and one big glorious friend-and-family-filled-furniture-day...
...I'm in the new Maushaus.
It's grand stuff. The neighbors are very pleased to see me, and just about everybody has been very kind and enthusiastic about my moving in. Ben the Neighbor Again and Peaty are through the roof. Literally--we've gone up to the attic space twice to explore and poke around. We are now all full of curry from my inaugural Ms Mausi-unpacked-her-kitchen Dinner Party. I'm still in happy shock about the move in general, now that all the fatigue is wearing off bit by bit. I was sitting on the front porch watching the water and the sun and the people going by and just feeling so content and relaxed.
I still need to get a few things. Kitchen table, most definitely. I have a feeling Ikea will provide:)
And I owe some BIG favors to my dad (who gets an extra-good Father's day present this year for sure)and Fleur, who braved both the parking downtown and the Mayonnaise guy to help me lug stuff across town. Wait until she sees the unpacked knitting goodies when I'm all set up. hehhehheh...And there was also The Pink Satan who saved my butt with her van Flipper, now forever known as The Hot Dolphin. And the most lugging and patience and shopping above and beyond the call of nature prize goes to Mcohenmn and The Queen of Stuff for which I am eternally grateful...I have a feeling I will be feeding them all curry and knitting until my fingers fall off in gratitude to them all...
All I've got to do now is to clean a bit at the old apartment and hand in the keys and laundry card and whatnot. And then I can go home and feed the neighbors ice cream and chocolate syrup:)
Speaking of chocolate, I'm enjoying some now, and having another happy blissful moment on the couch...
Life doesn't suck:)

Date: 2007-05-29 02:27 am (UTC)I think I'll be decorating the kitchen in 50's tiki-style!! When I get to it. Which may be a while. But my skull tiki-mug is in a place of honor for the moment:)
How are you and Kevin? I saw the post about your daughter, and about the Tandoori chicken, recipie and all...*drools a little*
