Adventures in busing...
May. 30th, 2007 10:07 am...I was a little nervous this morning. First day back at work after a four-day weekend. (Yeah, it didn't feel like one from all the moving stuff, but it still was one.) The bus ride is a little longer now, but goes right through downtown...easy shopping, which makes me happy. The walk to the bus stop was fantatic, too. My neighbors seem to have these splendid gardens, and I had peonies and iris and about every variety of tree and shrub in a 10-minute trot to the bus stop.
Work is still work...harried a bit, people chasing me down and adding new weirdness to my list of things to talk to people about. But I volunteered for it, so I'm doing my best to do right by people. I have to say; I'll be relieved in January when it's someone else's turn to be a steward. At least I'll be able to say, "Hey, I did my bit, I get to be one of the whiners again!" But until then, I have my oasis at home if things go funny at work. It really is an oasis, too--I was reading and watching the river go by this morning with my breakfast tea:)
So there you are...
