Strawberries and cream...
Jun. 29th, 2007 07:12 amEmily and the Chicken Whisperers and I had the greatest time ever last night at dinner. We ran around my new place whooping and oohing and ahhing over the view and the size and the eggs on the table. (Yes, there were eggs on the table. They had nothing to do with dinner, they were just pretty and fresh.)
Peaty brought some flowers and basil and green beans from the garden, and I made a peanut shrimp curry that turned out fairly tasty:) Then we had a lovely stroll around the east side of the island with the geese and Saturn the Cat in tow...dear god, the geese are funny!! They cleaned out all the dandelions along the way, and we had to rescue Saturn a couple of times from attempted goose nippery. It was hilarious to see the horse and carriage go by and slow waaaaaaay down to watch our little parade. Other walkers would stop and ask about the geese while they waddled by and burbled at each other. Emily took lots and lots of pictures, giggling the entire time...
Then we headed to my house and ate the last of the ice cream in my freezer with fresh strawberries from someone's garden and butterscotch drizzled over the top...laughing our heads off about silly things and just catching up generally. I ended up having the quote of the night; mangling an old Eddie Izzard bit where he was pretending to be a cranky old woman: "Fuck you, Death; got stuff to doooo!"
I fell asleep with the happiest smile on my face. I'm falling madly in love with this place. Mad, baby, mad!!
