...I was over at Matt and Erin's house at breakfast time this morning when Matt and I made an interesting discovery: There was a college kid fast asleep on the couch on their front porch. (they live close to a bunch of rental houses that usually have lots of partying college kids at any given time.) Matt and I carefully approached their guest and after a few rounds of "Excuse me? Hello? Can we help you?" the kid woke up a little..."Mrrrrblle couch..." "Uh huh, you're on my couch..." "Mrrble brrrble couch." "Yep, uhhh, you okay? Can we help you with something?" He woke up a little more. "Isss okay if you know whose couch you're on." "Uhhhhh...but we don't know you..."

He woke up pretty quickly at that. After a fair amount of laughing on our part and lots of apologizing on his part he left, and I'm still giggling. I think it went about as well as something like that could have gone...

"Mrrble brrrble couch."

I can't tell you how many times I've heard THAT old excuse!

You should have sent Al out there to wake him up, nothing wakes up a still drunk college kid like a 17 lb cat on his chest.

I thought about it...he gave us a beautiful hairball first thing in the morning; I should have seen if he'd hack up a few more for our new friend.

Just as I read this, Sam started to hack things up.
