Neroli--the oil of the bitter orange.
(Very good for the skin, lifts your spirits a bit like the smell of roses does. That was the major ingredient in my bath today, and I still smell faintly of it right now. (Snort snort) Mmmm, bath goop.

Ms Eff, with a frivoulus smell moment.

My computer needs a Smellevision attachment so I can smell your orangey self!

That would be so very very cool...

Of course the down side would be that you could smell the BO of various people too...maybe it can be switched on and off? I would love Smell-O-Vision if we ever got around to inventing it for the Mac:)

Ms Fledermaus, thinking we could add it to the Photo-Memory-Sucker attachment I was going to use on Kevin...

I carried a bag full of fresh lemons just picked from my lemon tree from the parking lot to work today (at least 2 blocks) and inhaled the wondrous scent all the way. I think your way is a little easier, but mine was free!

WOW!!!

Okay, that is free and very, very cool...How pretty that tree must be when it blooms!!
You can have lemonade whenever you want it!!!
And lemon icees, and hot lemon for when you get cold, and lemon peel in the bath!! Good heavens, Ser, I envy the hell out of you!!!

Ms Fledermaus, who sometimes goes to the conservatory across the street from work and
smells the lovely bitter orange trees, with their tiny fruit. But I can't touch:)

Um, I'd better not tell you about all the other fruit trees in my small but fertile yard, huh? They just happened to come with the house (which I bought 8 years ago), and seem to thrive in spite of my neglect. So when are you gonna visit me? :)

coming over with a bushel basket:)

OOOh, visiting...I won't be able to afford to go anywhere for a little bit, but maybe in early fall...I haven't been to California since I was a little girl! How fun it would be to visit!!
What would you recommend seeing in SunnyAllDay, California? (Besides your fabulous yard, bien sur? I have got to see your yard! And the Serendipity Keed!)

Ms Fledermaus, painting her luggage red in antiipation. (Well not yet, when it gets warmer and I can ventilate better:)

Ooh, early fall, you might get some of my apricots, or maybe apples, or grapes! You'll probably miss the peaches, though, oh well.

Besides my yard and The Kid, I'd recommend the wonders of the entire Bay Area. Cool Santa Cruz and its fun Beach Boardwalk, the steam train in the Santa Cruz Mountains, anywhere along Highway 1 up to San Francisco, "The City" itself, maybe east to Berkeley, and everything in between! If dot-coms and venture capital deals do anything for you, just stay right here in Silicon Valley. We've also got a terrific Technology Museum and Children's Discovery Museum. If you want, I can give you some URLs to web sites that you can drool over in anticipation.

Oops, gotta start my work day now!

Sure!!! I'd love that!

Send whatever you think is good, and I will doubtless love it:) Wow, you really do have everythingin your yard, don't you? I bet the bees think of it as an all-year buffet. (It sounds gorgeous...I have grape vines and a mulberry tree in my apartment yard, and lavender next door, but the growing season is so short, so very short...)

Ms Fledermaus, grinning from ear to pointy ear.

That is wonderful...You have a tiny tiny jungle!!!
I can hardly wait to have a peek.

Ms Fledermaus, who has *snow* Lots and lots and lots of...snow...and ice...and snow....:)

Oh, I almost forgot to mention my little cherry tree, pomegranate tree, huge fig tree, and an olive tree (strategically growing right over the front sidewalk which is now a nearly permanent shade of purple).

*Swoons with delight*

It makes your walk distinctive, it does!!!
I bet you've used the pomegranites to draw on fabric or paper, at some point, haven't you?
(It makes neat dye.) You have the ideal Grecian garden...I have to build you a little tiny Parthenon out of scrap wood someday:)

Ms Fledermaus, who didn't realize her friend Ser lived in the Elysian fields:))))))

yay frivolity!

I don't understand why frivolous has a bad connotation to some people.

Some people tend to link frivolity with banality, and they're not the same thing at all. Banality is comprised of dull things like talking nonstop about the stock markets for hours, or programming, or anything concerning Kathie Lee Gifford. Frivolity consists of running around like a crazed maniac going, "Yipee, yipee!" Eating strawberries, having tea somewhere with friends and chatting about nothing in particular, having lots and lots of nonprocreative sex...you get the idea.

Ms Fledermaus the Frivolous, armed to the teeth with chocolate, glitter, bath bombs, party streamers, and a giant book of Knock-knock jokes.
