Sushitime was very good yesterday...cold getting there and back, but all that nice warm sake really made the difference. *happy sigh* Virginia and I are contemplating some kind of sushi party in the spring. Ah, the joys of wasabi!!! (We experimented with various wasabi-eating techniques and admired the screwed-up-faces, buggy eyes and Ninja noises we each produced with very bite.)

I had a brainstorm coming in to work this morning...I keep thinking about how I would write the dream I had the other day. (the piratey one.) I think it might be enough for a short story...and it could be kinda funny if I do it right.
What would you think if I put up chapters for you all to have a look at as I write it, bit by bit? (Kind of like the Maus Noir day I did, except it would be a more stretched-out process.) It won't be exactly Wuthering Heights, but I'll give it my best shot...

...Just been thinking of how dull things have been lately, sushi aside. I haven't really done much that's stirring or interesting...and what little I have done's an awfully thin diet for everyday. *Mutter mutter*

I'd go do something fun after work today...but the cold is making me *very*disinclined to do anything but burrow and hibernate. Minnesota gets very interesting when it get warm; everyone goes a little nuts with the excitement of being outside.

*Suddenly sneezes, then again, and feels a familiar tickle in her throat*

I still got a bit of a cough...which is why I got:

and some cheesecake.*grin*

Cheesecake is a soverign cold remedy, you know...no, really...stop giggling.

I also had an unsatisfying debate with a guy in the breakroom who insisted our species would evolve to be generally brighter and more benevolent and balanced. I kept having to explain basic evolutionary theory to explain why this is not a given at all, that evolution doesn't make you "all that you can be, " that it chooses what's the best suited for whatever environmental factors are around it and that does not necessarily mean intelligence. (He kept interrupting me too, and either didn't get it or flat-out denied what I was saying had any relevance to his views, etcetera...) I'm more annoyed than I should be, it was just a stupid breakroom yakking session...

I'd typed in about a page of an intro for the Pirate story I was playing with, and a coworker came in needing help. Whe I was helping her, she accidentally nudged the escape button...and deleted it all!!!

*Pouts sadly*

Well, maybe I can play with it tonight and write a better one in the morning...
