msfledermausI had a very quiet weekend. (Almost too quiet, in contrast to noisier holidays I've had.) I did go to a really cool little get-together for New Years,though.
(The host had a small theatre in his basement, with film reels and popcorn and everything.)
I seem to have caught a little cold, too. I spent most of yesterday in bed with books, drinking tea and sniffling. (Dunks herbal tea bag laced with echinacea)
I did get all sorts of cool presents from my parents--a combination Christmas-Brithday box, including a new Sumi-e set, (I played with it for hours,trying to *feel* the brushstrokes..it's a very meditative thing.) a Venetian glass quill with matching blue ink, and a digital camera. (I've take 3 photos so far, and am still figuring out all the things it does. *click click*)
So I'm feeling very spoiled. :)

Date: 2002-01-02 02:15 pm (UTC)Most of my traditional calligraphy is kind of weak, but I can fake it. I've been learning how to write simple things in Japanese to go with whatever I'm painting. (I'm very proud of my plum trees and vine paintings. Plum trees are hard.)
I think you'd go ape over the venetian glass quill...It sounds so beautiful when you write with it; like writing with a wineglass.
