Sneaky Sock Monkey Shenanigans...
Oct. 11th, 2002 08:15 am...Today helping with the story is Ben the neighbor and none other than Ms Ruby Slippers. I'll give you all a minute to find a cosy place to curl up...
When we last left the Flying Sock-Monkeys, one in particular was watching with beady-eyed attention when Ms Mausi created scores of little wings in harnesses for the various Sock animals. Watched, and studied, and drew little blueprints when no one was looking...and one night, when Ms Mausi was sleeping off the glitter rush, tried out his designs for jet-propelled wings of his own. There was a great amount of screaming, crashing into walls and explosions. Happily the Maus in the Yellow Hat is a sound sleeper, so the new additions to his sparkly wings went unnoticed....
...And one fine night, Ms Mausi's Flying Sock-Monkey flew far, far away...to Atlanta, rescuing a fellow simian sock from the clutches of a Tiny Kitten, and gifting him with wings. To London. To Milwaukee. To Arizona. To Missouri. To New Jersey. To down the block to pick up some more rocket fuel and a packet of sour gummy bears. And back to the apartment now known as the "Flying Sock-Critter Launch-Pad Of Doom doom doooooom....."
And those *new* Flying Critters, ecstatic about their new accessories, started to take full advantage of their new super-powers. Oh, the knocking over of garbage bins!!! The barking of dogs!!! The pantsing of cops!!! The raids on the Cheeze-whiz stores of the nation!!! The frenzied airel-battles!!! The coconut bras!!! (Coconut bras? *shudder*)
And with many a distraction and the occasional pit-stop along the way for marshmallow peeps and extra bicycle parts...
...They headed for Minnesota....
