I feel very pleased with the result. And I always feel better about things in general when I'm creating something that wasn't there before.

I have to admit, sometimes I feel a little like Devi from "I feel sick" by Jhonen Vasquez. Especially if I'm feeling bluesy about not really being in a relationship right now. When things are good, I hum little happy tunes and make something interesting; get the image out of my head and where other people can see it. Or I do a custom job for someone, and it's as good or better than their expectations. A piece of experience and vision translated into the physical realm, to be handled and passed on and to gain new dimensions of experience and history with or without me.

When things are bad, I have my art for comfort. or to comfort others, to show them that life isn't all dull and hopeless, that mysteries and wit and joy have a place in an increasingly drab and structured landscape.

I have paint under my fingernails again today.

and a smudge on my elbow

I'm glad it helped. Very glad. it sure helped me with a glum bit I was having tonight, and I'm grateful that the happiness I felt making something carried over to someone else too:)

Hmmmm....

you know what I do when I'm stuck?

I play with crayons. They're so pretty and fun, and it takes the heat off. After a while of just noodling around with the crayons I loosen up, get ideas, feel less structured. And you can't get any detail with crayons, so it's hard to be anal-retentive about them:)

It always help during the rough times to have something to direct your mind, emotions, and aggresions towards. Very theraputic. : )

Yes. I always do my most interesting artwork when I'm struggling with something emotionally. (sad or happy)

And its' not gonna be good art unless it gets all over you. And I have a bad habit of using glitter. Days!!! I scrub the stuff off for DAYS!

I know what you mean about the glitter. Back when I had my previous car, the insides always seemed to be covered in little pieces of glitter. I'd vacuum it all up, but then it would be right back again. The steering wheel used to glisten from all of the glitter that was embedded into it. I guess that's what you get when you're a member of a ROCKY HORROR cast. ; )

Back then I was a Transylvanian, which are all the people visiting the castle in the film. Basically, it's a chorus line part with some reaction moments thrown in for good measure. There are photos of me from those days available too... ; )

You've looked gorgeous to me in all the pictures that I've seen so far. Where are you hiding these bad photos?

The Riverside Theatre....giant giant stage there:) It used to be at the Uptown. You'd like it, it's got three tiers of seats and not one of them's a bad one...
