a list:

Wearing: Green skirt, light black shirt, white socks.

Eating: Strawberries and a peach.

Drinking: Water.

Reading: a Yarn catalog.

Thinking: of a drawing I want to finish this weekend, the scarf I finished beading last night, and a new one the directions tricked me into making with a cool lace pattern. I'm getting paid to do the beaded scarf--my first knitted-thing sale.
*blush*

Pondering: My yarn-obsession lately. Yes, it's probably unhealthy, yes I'm sublimating other passions for it right now.
Don't care. Don't care. Don't care....*grins a little crazily*

Needing: to buy some lunch, to get a gift for someone, to get ready for work.

Wanting: to ask a cute coworker out for coffee...probably not a good idea.
At least we're in different departments and we flirt a bit when we run into each other. If I make the request funny enough it won't hurt if he says no. I may chicken and run, too. Bok bok bok...

So there you are...

Good morning :)

I've tried badgering you to go ahead with this before. I don't know if this is the same cutie or if I actually badgered you into seeing someone who turned out to be never-call-you-back guy. If it was NCYBG, I apologise, but draw your attention to the small print at the bottom of the badgering where it says "don't take this date too seriously, as he's almost certainly too worthless to even call you." See? I warned you.

OK, I'll 'fess up. I'm badgering you into asking out men so I get to hear the stories afterwards. ;~)

Different cute guy this time, the other one had a girlfriend.

I probably will at some point; but I'll keep both small print ideas firmly in my mind.

Maybe you need to get two or three on the go at once. Then you won't have time or energy to get too involved. They'll all be wondering why *you* don't call. 8~D

There's that...I'm kind of busy anyway these days.
all of a sudden people want me to knit them things and are waving money at me, and I still have some drawings to finish.
But this guy's so funny and nice...he thinks it's cool I knit, even. Now if only I can get him away from his coworkers for a minute. *why* is it whenever you want to ask someone out there's a crowd of people around them? *grumble grumble*

Are you sure? A man who thinks knitting is cool, or a desperate man who's not been getting any for ages? ;~)

We were joking about it a bit; at one point he did his Eric Cartman-voice and said, "knit me a sweater, bebeh!" I snickered and fired back, "gimme a hundred dollars worth of yarn!" (it was all I could do not to say, "Play your cards right, mister, and you'll be neck-deep in the things...mmmmmmyep!"
Oh dear, I am smitten.)

soooo, it came off more as friendly goofing around:)

LOVE MEEE!
*ahem* I mean,...wanna go out fer coffee?

Not that I've had the opportunity to ask...and i'm losing my nerve again. Maybe next time (if there is one) that he's all flirty, I can feel less awkward about asking.

What's he look like?

He's got brown eyes and black curly hair, glasses, olive skin, bit of a hooked nose...sort of a medium build, veeeery huggable if I dared. Your basic devastatingly cute Jewish boy from Chicago. He's a bit of a hormonal experience--quite a few of my female coworkers have been fighting urges to hug him too; and they've all got boyfriends...and all the gay men have been very disappointed to find out he's into girls.

Maybe it's just summer fever and it'll pass...

Heh, we were talking about thai food today...maybe i should see if he wants to go to chiang Mai Thai's or something...*drools at the thought*

I'm sorry to go on and on about this...*sheepish grin*
it must be kinda dull:/

I've had Thai lunch twice recently. Maybe you could do that. It's tasty, not too expensive, and there'll be less weight of expectation than a full-strength date.

> kinda dull
No, I'm having a vicarious love life. Fun!

You enjoy la vie Vicarious de Mausi, eh? Hope you like string:)
(Okay, it's not That Bad, and I did buy some pretty string--only the best for displacement activities, bebeh!)

I'm thinking that very thing...we were talking about thai places in Chicago, since he moved here only recently. Maybe I should show the man a couple of my favorite places.:) I mean, he's making me a list of places in chicago to eat when I goon my road trip next week, so it would be *ahem* the only polite thing to doooooo....

memo to myself: Don't get your hopes up and/or make a total idjit of myself....but stop being a cowardly chicken...bok boook!

Don't unbutton anything in the vicinity of suggesting this. 8~D

I'll try--we're buth horribly busy with this event this weekend, but if he sends me the list of stuff to see in chicago, that'll give me a chance to e-mail him a sneaky open-ended request, like, "You know, It's hard for me to drag my friends to eat Thai food, so if you'd like to snarf some green curry with duck and bamboo shoots, I know some great places..."

*gulp*

It's driving me crazy too. We were doing mock-Kung-fu in the lobby, and I was thinking how muchfun a date would be....

What, together?!

And I recently watched a Sabrina episode where one of the aunts became bewitched by a "must knit" spell. Think you got it too?

Hmmm...could be, could be...it certainly seems like it. I suspect my lovely birch needles. I'd de-hex them if I could put them down...
