More yarny fun...
Aug. 6th, 2003 07:54 am...I sold the scarf I finished to our administraive director. I felt a bit like something out of a fairy tale, trotting it over and having her try it on and seeing how much she liked it. I can still be awkward about showing my work, even though I've been exhibiting and selling art semi-steadily for some time. Plus knitting is a new skill for me anyway...it sure is gratifying, though...and since I'm still working on a few cards, it helps me relax when I feel stressed out about what I'm doing.
Now to feed that particular addiction I bought some lovely hand-spin yarn from Ana, some lovely mossy green stuff. I'm still thinking of what I'd like to do with it. Mmmmm,yarn.....
The only other thing that's new besides watching more Bravo, ("Gay! Staright! Gay! Uhhh, I'm not sure...") is Daifu calling me and making Mojo-Jojo-noises over the phone...and telling me things about monkeys and goats I never, ever ever wanted to think about.....ever.
Thanks a LOT, Evan! Now I can't get the damn Mojo-Jojo voice outta my HEAAAAD!
Bad Monkey!!! Bad bad Monkey!!!
I, Mmmmojo-jojo, play with the yarn...and playing with the yarn is the joy of mmmmmojo-Jojo!! Huhuhuhuhu!
See? insidious stuff, I tell ya! You're gonna pay, Daifu...

Date: 2003-08-08 05:33 am (UTC)let me know what you might like...Most yarns on the market aren't quite as expensive as the one I just used, so the price would come down, too. (there's even some pretty alpaca stuff out there for about $5 a ball...a little goes a long way for a scarf.)
Maybe we'll have to start a Save Ainetl From Freezing Drive...Mittens, coat, hats, scarves..you'd hve warm things in no time:)

Date: 2003-08-11 05:37 am (UTC)I hope you end up not having to go when it's really bad out. I don't want you to have to be scared for your safety:(
And think all you need to; there's some really pretty scarves on the market that aren't bad money-wise. (Or you can find old wooly sweaters and cut them up and do crazy-quilt scarves out of them after felting them. Mmm, warm!)

Date: 2003-08-12 05:46 am (UTC)and now that I'm thinking about it, I saw a bunch of old wool sweaters up for grabs in the laundry room for free...time to stick 'em in the washer on the hot setting and cut them into squares:)
