...I got a message from my current apartment manager...They claim they'r not liable for the damage I suffered due to thier flooding my apartment; only for the damage to the apartment itself. So they won't waive thier administration fee...and will probably find othr ways to take the entire thing away, knowing them. I spent a lot of yesteray evening on the phone. I left messages for the Stop Abuse campaign, and talked to my friend emily, whos sister's a housing lawyer. I'm e-mailing her today.
I really don't think I'm asking much...but I'm not suprised that these sorry scumbags are fighting me.
What works in my favor right now is that the elevator is *still* down--5 days and counting. Aftr 24 hours that was illegal. Also, I'm positive they used unliscensed plumbers on the building--who else woul put a tap on so badly you couldn't turn it off?!? That's illegal too. I know for a *fact* the work they did was in-house, beause I asked specifically. I really don't want to have to drag this to court...but they're not leaving me much choice, 6ammit!!! I hate this!!! I want this to be done!!! And it just keeps getting worse an worse.
goddammit.
