I just got off the phone with the Emil-y...She works at the MIA as one of the security staff.
"Hell yes, we're hiring." She tells me, "Come down tomorrow after work and fill out an application and drop off your resume'"

Okay.

It sounds like they'll take me. I have good references and experience. Most of the security staff are refugees from the Inferno anyway...

It'll be nice to see some people I used to work with regularly. The starting pay is only a buck under what I'm making now. It's about 15 minutes away by foot, or a short bus ride. It'll be part time at first, and take a little while to get benefits, but it'll be less stressful than the Inferno.

I don't feel quite so panicked right now. That's good.

The nice thing is, the place is full of old friends and coworkers of mine, so they know me already. It'll be a little tight financially at first, but it would be so nice to work with people who aren't all malevolent dickheads again...

The MIA is the Minnesota Institute of Art...and the Inferno is Walker Art Center...one of the best modern art museums in the country...or as I call it, "The Wal-Mart of the art world."

yeah...I've been unhappy there for a long time..I honestly thought I could work around it; that the economy sucked and the benefits were okay, and if I just did my job and stayed the hell away from the Sta-Puft man I'd be okay for a while...:(
