...We've got an event next door at workies involving a food company I will leave nameless. No big deal, just people in suits going back and forth clutching plastic bags full of mini-convention goodies. A bit boring, really. Well, except for the two protestor-guys hanging around outside wearing Spiderman suits.
Apparently their platform is something along the lines of "Get women out of the workplace." they call themselves, uhhh "Fathers in outrage" or something.. No, wait it's "Fathers sort of upset?" I'm not really sure. I have no idea what this would do with Spiderman--Petey Parker was always so supportive of Mary Jane's modeling career... I'm also a little baffled about their location. Why here? If they were really irate about this "women in the workplace" 50's psuedo-nostagia thing they'd have to go all over town, wouldn't they?

*shakes head in bemused wonderment*

Last time I checked they're still out there. They're legal, not exactly on anyone's property. No, nobody's called Plunketts or Orkin or anything like that...yet. I wonder what kind of trouble I'd get into for giving Spiderman a wedgie? I bet I'd at least get a ticket...

Danke. I was thinking of those kids shows where the characters have a message at the end. "He-Man says, 'Drugs are Bad!'"

That's one of those moments where you look a couple times to be sure that you are seeing what you think that you're seeing.

We have a group here that are trying to get fathers better access to their children after divorce, and they often dress like that to get publicity. They say that courts give preferential treatment to mothers and don't enforce agreements about access. I've no idea if this is connected.

Hmmm..these guys just wanted all women everywhere to stop working, apparently. *shakes head in baffled wonderment*

I sometimes agree with the other guys, since sometimes in this country it can really be a raw deal if there's custodial issues. (This seems to go both ways though; I often think the courts end up siding with the psychotic parent, no matter what gender is involved:(

Lawyer A: My client would provide a safe and loving environment for these children and so make an excellent parent.
Lawyer B: My client has a long history of violence and knows where you live, Judge.
Judge: Hmm, tough case.
